Next classes

  • September 12th (Monday)

  • September 14th (Wednesday)

  • September 17th (Saturday) - To cover the missed class due to Covid. I managed to change from a face-to-face class to an online “monitored activity”, which will be used as part of the final exam/case resolution.

  • September 21th (Wednesday) - Final Exam. Deadline for uploading the Final Case.

So, we have 4 classes to go, with a total of 7h+ of activities.

Next classes

September 12th

  • Today, we will start the case.

  • In groups of 3 (4 is not allowed given the number of companies in the case), each group will solve the first activity today.

    • This is the Quiz #3

    • More information in a minute.

I will be available to discuss the results of the midterm if you want to.

Next classes

September 14th

  • We will discuss Social Bond Principles (SBPs), Green Bond Principles, and Equator Principles.

  • In groups of 3 (4 is not allowed given the number of companies in the case), each group will solve a second activity related to the main case.

    • This is the Quiz #4

Next classes

September 17th & September 21th

  • There will be no face-to-face activity. The groups must organize to solve the remaining parts of the main case.

  • The deadline for uploading the solutions of the main case is Sept 21st, Wednesday 17h.

  • All previous activities must be integrated with the main case solution (all documents must be included in a single document).

  • As part of the final solution, each group needs to upload a slide presentation with the main arguments for investing or not investing in each company.

    • This is part of the pitch you would have with Triodo’s manager.
    • More information about that, next class.

Today

Main case: FINANCE FOR A SUSTAINABLE SOCIETY AT TRIODOS INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT: AN ESG PORTFOLIO INVESTMENT DECISION

Today’s activity is:

  1. Read the main case.

  2. Students will work in groups of three, but the upload must be individual.

  • Each student will select one of the three companies discussed in the main case.

  • Individually, students will answer the following questions:

    • Write two paragraphs summarizing the company’s value proposition. Does it align with Triodo’s transition themes?
    • Carefully evaluate the SASB’s materiality for the company.
